Cannon Building recently had the opportunity to assist Furnishing Hope in its mission to help wounded military heroes. Cannon Building team members Justin Cote and Jason Williams loaded and transported a portion of a major donation of towel goods from HD Supply to the Wounded Warrior Hope and Care Center Camp Pendleton and to the Naval Medical Center San Diego. A company stake bed truck and a trailer carried 2,000 bath towels, 1,000 hand towels and 1,000 bath mats from the Furnishing Hope warehouse in Orange County to both locations. Thank you Justin and Jason for representing Cannon Building in our ongoing relationship with Furnishing Hope.
Cannon Building underwrote costs and team members had the opportunity to spend a day last December unloading and setting up a four-bedroom house for a wounded warrior and his family. Witnessing the precision teamwork of Furnishing Hope founder Beth Phillips and her team, along with the donation and delivery of furniture and new mattresses from Living Spaces, deepened our company’s commitment to the organization.
“The homes that Furnishing Hope prepare for our wounded military and their families are in all the areas we do business, including: Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Diego Counties so it’s a perfect fit for us to be involved,” says Tim J. Cannon, President.
Furnishing Hope is a privately funded non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization committed to helping severely wounded heroes who are transitioning from the hospital to civilian life. Though they have roofs over their heads, their houses are often empty. Through the efforts of a volunteer staff, including volunteer interior designers, Furnishing Hope transforms their empty spaces into peaceful, comfortable homes, complete with furniture, new mattresses, bedding, kitchenware, etc. All of this is provided at no cost to wounded heroes.
