Kevin Crider

Project Manager

Describe the last 10-15 years of your career in a snapshot.

  • Began engineering career in aerospace industry
  • Drilling engineer in the petroleum industry for nearly 10 years (in the Rocky Mountains, the Gulf of Mexico, and Saudi Arabia)
  • Six years with Cannon Building, focused in healthcare construction (typically OSHPD I)

Favorite building, structure, or architectural piece, and why?

The Vincent Thomas Bridge. It’s not very attractive on its own, but it offers stunning panoramic views of the Port of Los Angeles to the north and open ocean to the south. Plus, it’s a rush to feel the sway of the bridge when traffic is stopped.

What do you like best about what you do at Cannon Building?

I like working for a family-run business and being surrounded by honest, conscientious people. The work I do every day has a lot of variety, and I enjoy wearing different hats. I like solving problems and facing new challenges – as well as being trusted to develop my own strategy to deliver projects that meet our client’s expectations.

What are a few of your passions or hobbies?

My passion is woodworking — I spend as much free time as possible making furniture. I find working with hand tools to be personally rewarding and a great stress reliever, while also connecting me with history. I’m halfway to my goal of making all of the furniture in my house!
