About the Company

Cannon Building, a successful commercial General Contractor, is seeking a motivated, skilled, and experienced Life Science Project Manager for our Los Angeles/Orange County office. We are a leading Life Science, Healthcare, and Commercial/Industrial builder who provides high efficiency, cost-effective construction solutions while maintaining a relentless focus on safety and quality.

Job Purpose

Provides assistance to the CFO and the HR Team. This position will be responsible for assisting accounts receivable and payable and assist with Payroll Procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with data input for accounting system upgrade.
  • Process Billing
  • Prepare various payroll related reports.
  • Coordinates and manages the company mobile phones.
  • Orders and monitors use of company issues credit cards.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions. Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested. Process mail for HR/AP department
  • Completes OSHA Logs/Worksheets (ISN website/internally on a quarterly/annual basis).
  • Reviews and verifies invoices, check requests, and credit card statements.
  • Sorts, codes, and matches invoices and then set up for payment.
  • Tracks expenses and processes expense reports.
  • Prepares and processes electronic transfers and payments.
  • Researches and resolves invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Maintains vendor files.
  • Corresponds with vendors and responds to inquiries.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
 

Technical Skills

  • Have accounting knowledge i.e., completed some accounting courses and not necessarily degreed.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excell skills, as well as other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization. 
  • Knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance is a plus.
  • GAAP: 1 year (Preferred)
  • 2-5 years of accounting/finance experience in AP, AR, and some PR.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge with Paychex is a plus.
  • Knowledge with Sage is a plus.
  • Knowledge with Procore is a plus.
