Andrew Moore

Senior Project Engineer

Describe the last 10-15 years of your career in a snapshot.
  • First job out of college: Habitat for Humanity in Franklin, TN, as a construction supervisor building homes and coordinating/directing volunteers in construction activities.
  • Greenspace Construction Services in Cleveland, Ohio, where I was a project administrator working on two 60,000 sq. ft. K-8 schools within the Cleveland Metropolitan area.
  • Coakley Williams in the DC, MD, VA (DMV) metropolitan area, as a project engineer. Completed a multi-phased renovation of an outdoor mall and a hardscape renovation for high-end retail spaces and also completed an interior/exterior wall and office space renovation for a fast casual eatery. In addition, began work on a 95,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art indoor aquatics and fitness center for Arlington County, VA, prior to starting work at Cannon Building.

Favorite building, structure, or architectural piece, and why?

My favorite building at this time would be the Centre Pompidou in Paris, France, for its “inside out” design and the variety of purposes it has as an art museum, a library, and a research center.

What recent innovation in any industry fascinates you, and why?

The scope of 3D printing fascinates me. While not a recent innovation, 3D printing continues to develop where small homes can now be 3D-printed. It will be interesting to see how this technology can develop in the future.

What or who inspires your work?

The idea that the spaces and structures we build contribute to the memories and lives of others.
